The once-wife emails me regularly about the yahoos, notably no. 3 who lives with her. She has my name in her email under the name I use here and with friends, which just irritates the piss outta me.

I enjoyed hearing a new band this afternoon/evening -- the Informants. (Like every band everywhere, they have a myspace page with samples for the overcurious.)

It was hot yesterday, and rather warm for sleeping last night. I had weird dreams involving a lot of urgent chasing activity, some of it inside this giant sporting good store. (WTF?) **Unpleasant detail warning**

I'm thinking about when sociability becomes an obligation. Someone is friendly, and it's only 'natural' to respond in kind with a friendly smile or chat or whatever. Everyone has experienced situations where that became too much and a stranger, or worse some distant uncle operating under the color of family expectation, just talks your leg off and you simply can't escape. It's usually presented as a joke, but during the experience it's awkward as hell.

I'm thinking this pattern for the quilting on the dragonfly thing would be too damn much work. It's kind of what I want, though. I do like the traditional symbolism of vitality & energy of the ginkgo leaf -- that's something I often feel is lacking, and more of it might very well be a good thing in my life. Plus that's good for a quilt, since good sleep restores energy and so on. I might sketch up a single leaf that I can quilt on each quater moon shape and again in the opposite corner of each square.

Still no clue (or not much) what to do about quilting within the center dragonfly panel.

Seldom has a phone call left me crying after. And that surprised me a bit, because I was fully expecting this call -- it was pretty much inevitable at some point. But there I was, blubbering on myself as soon as I hung up. Things feel better now, but still.
