the google experience is about as classic as cheese whiz. keyboard, pixels, and mouse clicks gets the information to you, but there is no smell, no effort, no sense of discovery when you scan cards before or after the one that answers your need. like watching a fireplace video. getting information effortlessly somehow degrades it, or maybe i am just unable to adapt like my parents before me and their parents before them

"Serendipitious discovery," perhaps. There are lots of different types of discovery. Some people favor that one. Some people favor getting information effortlessly and speedily. I'd prefer immediate retreival for time-sensitive information, such as crucial medical results, as just one example. Each discovery method has its time and place and user.
