Good news to report about the health of the Tree of Luuuuuuurve! My vast international audience will no doubt remember the spiffy pyrocanthus that my sweetheart sent me for my birthday in November. The cute little thing arrived quite leafy & festive, but it soon started dropping leaves. The berries for which it gets its name remained intact, but it was beginning to look a bit thin up top, to my disappointment.
It was getting water according to instructions, and I was thinking plant food might be warranted, but it's looking like a simple move to a sunnier spot is helping out. Lots of baby leaves are budding out again, and looking much better. I was worried that a spot near the windows would make things too cold overnight, but online descriptions suggested otherwise, so I took the risk. It's now back in the sunroom where I seldom go, so I don't get to enjoy it very often, but it clearly needs the sun, so we'll go with that for now.
We'll have to find a window with some sun in our new place after Decision Day.
