After the long break for the work/fun trip to SF (whee!!) I'm thinking about a more "gathered" less scattered pattern of quarter-circles in my quilt background. I still don't want to just orient them all the same so it's a plain old pattern, but the self-consciously random arrangement had an overly jangly feel for me. So here I'm looking for a calmer but still free-form arrangement. Not sure whether or not I'm there yet. I'm inclined to think it's an improvement based on side-by-side comparison.

Sure wish I knew someone with good aesthetic sense and quilting experience who had a 4-day weekend to come help me decide. But where, oh where, could I possibly find such a person? I'd be delighted to buy her a drink at the Cruise Room as thanks for the assistance.
